Olune Places

Privacy Policy

Effective October 21, 2026. This policy covers the Olune Places app for iPhone and Apple Watch, published by Athinin.

In short

What stays on your devices

Saved places, collections, notes, photos, your car spot, your settings and the last address the app looked up are stored on your iPhone and, for the places and the car, on your paired Apple Watch. The iPhone and the Apple Watch talk to each other directly. None of this is sent to us. If you export your places (GPX or CSV), the file goes only where you send it.

Location

Olune Places uses your location to show your current address, the nearest cross street and your coordinates, to save places and your car, to draw the radar, and, if you choose, to share your position with your group.

To turn a position into an address, a cross street, a search result or a map, the app uses Apple's map services. Those requests send the position to Apple, without your account, under Apple's privacy policy.

The app uses location in the background only for features you turn on: "Keep updating when locked", Patrol mode, sharing with your group, and "Find my car automatically". Your iPhone shows the location indicator while it does. Motion data, used to tell driving from walking, is read on your iPhone only and is never sent anywhere.

Team and your account

Team is optional. To use it you sign in with Apple or with Google; there is no password. When you do, we receive from Apple or Google an account identifier, your email address (with Sign in with Apple this can be a private relay address) and, if shared, your name.

To run Team we store: your account identifier and email; the name your group sees; the groups you create or join, their names, members and invite codes; and, only while you share, your latest position (latitude, longitude, accuracy, speed, heading and time) and when your sharing ends.

Team data is hosted by our provider Supabase, on servers in the United States (Virginia), and is sent over encrypted connections. Access rules on the server let each person read only the groups they belong to.

Notifications

The app shows notifications created on your iPhone, such as "Car saved" with an Undo button, or an alert when you get back near your car. We do not send push notifications.

What we don't do

We don't show ads, we don't track you across other apps or websites, we don't sell or share your data with data brokers, and the app contains no analytics or advertising SDKs.

Deleting your data

Places and photos are deleted from the app or by deleting the app. To delete your Team account, open the Team tab and choose Delete account. This deletes your account, your profile, the groups you lead (for everyone in them), your place in other groups and your position. If you signed in with Apple, we also ask Apple to revoke the app's access to your Apple ID.

Children

Olune Places is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Your rights and contact

You can see, correct or delete your Team data in the app, or ask us at support@athinin.com. We will tell you about changes to this policy here and update the date above.
